Wary
A poetic response to a weekly writing prompt.
This poem was inspired by a writing prompt published under Chelsea Marie’s Poetry Writing Prompts — Week Two.
Wary
It’s
the roar
of laughter
hilarity
within the one place
a man should feel safe from
the world’s challenges only
to feel anger and distrust from
family finding amusement at
his expense at gatherings making him
question if blood really is thicker than
water then why maintain legacy
when harmony’s nonexistent
within souls unable to
address and release their
pain without hurling
insults upon
relatives
needing
love?
