Three Months and Counting …
A writing prompt response
This story is written in response to Refresh the Soul’s 30-Day Writing Challenge.
I know tomorrow isn’t promised to anyone, but what if you knew the exact date of the last day of your life?
Let’s say that it’s three months from now.
How would you spend your time?
This writing prompt as part of the Refresh the Soul 30-Day Writing Challenge was not an easy one for me to answer. Ever since turning 50 in 2020, I’ve become more aware of my mortality since I’ve lived a half-century. This recognition became more prominent after having a potential cancer scare and my first colonoscopy two years ago.
Fortunately, I’m in great health, but I do know someday I’ll take my last breath. If I knew I was going to die in three months, how would I spend my remaining time?
I would continue to live the best life possible during this time. Naturally, I would increase my efforts to write and publish new literary works, perhaps poetry and/or short story anthology. That’s without question. However, I would want to attempt and complete the following items in the next three months:
