Author’s note: The following story is based upon a vivid dream I had about the legendary Tina Turner. The article also contains a partial excerpt from a ChatGPT conversation shown in italics.

It was not every evening that I found myself riding in the back of a black limousine with Ms. Tina Turner. We were driving through an enchanting metropolis, either Washington, DC or New York City. I would be her escort for an event to honor the legendary singer.

She wasn’t the same singer I grew up watching her performances in archival 1970s concert footage as the lead singer in The Ike & Tina Turner Revue or 1980s music videos broadcasted on MTV, BET, or VH1. She was much older, almost as if she was recovering from a stroke, but she could still carry a coherent conversation without slurred speech.

Ms. Turner wore a pink overcoat, which I thought was odd. I wasn’t about to comment on her appearance; after all, she was Tina Turner and with her fame and wealth, she could wear whatever she pleased.

Dressed in a black tuxedo, I felt anxious yet spellbound; I was sitting next to Ms. Turner. I sat mostly in silence, allowing her to do most of the talking, engaging in small talk. I was surprised that she was curious…
