Saturday Morning Love Letter — Christmas Day
A personal love letter outreaching to self on Christmas Day.
25 December 2021
Dear Bill,
Merry Christmas! I’m taking a moment this morning to wish you a happy holiday season, my brotha. I know you have a big day planned today from visiting your dad and your sister Tanya later this afternoon to sending some video message to a few friends you couldn’t mail Christmas cards this past week. Your thoughtfulness is very beautiful, Bill, and I always admire the kindness you give to your loved ones. I know they appreciate having you in their lives just as much as you do with their presence in yours. Please don’t forget about expressing that same sentiment to yourself, brotha.
There’s nothing wrong with taking sometime today for showing yourself some self-love. It can be something simple as listening to your favorite Christmas song, Johnny Gill’s rendition of “Give Love on Christmas Day,” on repeat; having a hot cup of green tea; reading several pages of Robert Greene’s Mastery; journaling your thoughts; or doing a load of laundry. Okay, maybe not with the laundry today, but you get the point.
Anywho, take care, Bill, and if no one has yet to tell you this today, please let me be the first to say “I love you, man!”
Love,
Bill Holmes
