Rest and Relax
The things I feel most grateful for at this moment.
This story is written in response to Refresh the Soul’s 30-Day Writing Challenge.
Today, I was grateful to catch-up on some much-needed rest.
It felt wonderful to sit back and do absolutely nothing when the opportunity presents itself. I’ve been on the go for the past two weeks from working two jobs to exercising at the gym to pursuing freelance writing and other opportunities to create income. In addition, I experienced minor burnout despite engaging in self-care.
I needed this day to lay on my couch to take a nap or watch a Star Trek: The Original Series rerun, “The City on the Edge of Forever” (one of my top three personal favorite episodes), that I’ve repeatedly seen throughout my life.
I’ll admit I didn’t do anything that pertained to my creativity. That’s almost impossible because when I don’t physically write, I’m always thinking about writing. Anywho, I scribbled three pages longhand (a consistent habit I picked up from participating in Julia Cameron’s The Artist’s Way this summer) and read two short…
