The Art Museum

A place to see beautiful paintings?

Perhaps. But for two sisters, it’s

the unbreakable bond they

will always share that no

one can take from them.

Memories of

West Philly

summer

days.

The above poem is a poetic tribute to two important women in my life: my mother Sandra Baytops and my aunt and her sister Rosalind Johnson.

Before my mom located relocated to Virginia in 2005, my aunt gave her a framed photo of the Philadelphia Art Museum so she could have a piece of Philly with her. My aunt told me they spent some of their childhood at the institution.

Sixteen years later, Painting with a Twist Philly offered the painting Monet’s Philadelphia Museum of Art this past summer on two occasions.
