Paradise
A poem about what this planet would be like without humanity.
It was paradise,
a world like no other
that my eyes will never see
where life was cherished
and time knew no boundaries.
An era where money had no value,
politics lacked purpose,
racism was nonexistent,
and technology was never invented.
A place where all living creatures
were free to roam the jungles,
to soar the skies and to swim the seas
without the threat of extinction.
An oasis where the earth and its animals
were netiher raped nor stripped
of their prized possessions,
in the pursuit of
greed, materalism, and affluence.
A utopia unscathed by industrial revolutions,
toxic pollution, ozone depletion,
biological diseases, nuclear warfare,
and the environmental atrocities
of scientific arrogance.
Indeed, this world was paradise
that my eyes will never see
where life was cherished
and nature blossomed in tranquility.
