It’s December 1, 2021, the day after NaNoWriMo.

I didn’t achieve the goal of writing 50,000 words. My total word count was 15,046, which is up 1,473 words from my 2020 grand total of 13,573.

Am I upset I didn’t achieve the event goal? No, because that wasn’t my intention. My goal was to consistently write for 30-days without quitting from any frustration I could experience, distractions that could sabotage my creative mood, or any excuses I could make to prevent me from dropping out of NaNoWriMo.

Writing consistently for 30 days in November 2021 led me to the following results:

· Producing nine chapters of a new manuscript with a current 15,046-word count.

· Developing a writing system that accommodated my personal schedule.

· Using techniques like creating outlines, premises, and synopses to structure each chapter (more on this subject in a future article).
