The following drabble was inspired by a weekly writing prompt from Bella Smith ⭐originally shared under Promptly Written’s Weekly Prompts April 15 — April 21, 2024:
I stepped inside the empty, frigid chamber and took off my robe. My underwear and the protective gloves, socks, and slippers were the only garments I wore while being exposed to the bitter cold of the cryotherapy treatment to heal my sciatica. The provider’s voice announcing the time through the speaker kept me calm until she gasped at the thirty second mark.
“Is everything okay?” I asked.
I saw her clutch her chest and fall to the floor.
“Help!” I screamed, banging on the locked door, hoping someone would hear me before they discovered two dead bodies.
