This nonet poem was written in response to Chelsea Marie’s Poetry Writing Prompts — Week Forty-Four under The Storyteller’s Vault.

Holidays

Family gatherings feel frigid
from lack of warmth surrounded by
phony fools who talk about
their kinfolk that makes me
grateful for all true
honest friendships
that add love
to my
life.
