Consistency is a critical component for mastering any task. When I first started reciting poetry, I would read from paper and not memorize my work. I wanted to improve my stage presence so I wouldn’t have to rely on paper as I studied other poets at many venues. I developed a routine where I would memorize a poem by writing it down several times in a notebook, stand in front of a mirror while observing my body language, and repeat the same poem between 30 mins to 60 minutes after memorizing it for the first time. You must be committed to putting in the work if you desire to master any task, including being a better writer.

Today, I commit myself to be consistent with my actions to learn how to master something until it becomes an effortless habit.
