Habari gani? Nia. I express gratitude for the many gifts the Creator has bestowed upon me on the fifth day of Kwanzaa. Of them all, writing is my calling; it’s my life’s purpose to be the best writer I can be to use the words I think, create, and speak to empower the community. This gift is more than a skill, it’s a tradition to communicate our stories from the griots of the past to the modern-day storytellers through various media forms that celebrates and shares the beauty of ancestry.

Today I acknowledge my purpose and will use my talents and skills to honor my Creator and contribute towards the restoration of community.
